M2Desk gets project with 300 M2Desk-Flex units
For University of Groningen M2Desk is the ultimate solution to turn a room into a multifunctional space. Digital and paper tests, computer classes and lectures, all in one room. M2Desk will in the coming weeks install 300 tables with M2Desk-Flex units in a classroom where tests will be taken.

M2Desk participates in the semi-finals of the Baby Tycoon Award
On the 15th of June M2Desk will compete in the semi-finals of the Baby Tycoon Award. The Baby Tycoon Award is a business plan competition. This means that a full business plan must be submitted. Based on these data entrepreneurs are selected by an expert selection committee. This committee consists of representatives from sponsors. Subsequently, the final four companies will be vying for two

Opening M2Desk at the Holtkampschool
Tuesday October 5th is the day. Two of the classrooms at Holtkampschool, in which 43 students work with M2Desk since September 6th, are officially opened.

M2Desk has been delivered
At the Holtkampschool 43 M2Desks are delivered to the two classrooms of group 6 (age 9 to 10). After two days of installation and configuration, the students started using the M2Desk on September 6. On the first day at school an introduction to M2Desk took place, and the students started working with their multimedia student desk. Broadcasting network Maximaal came to shoot a film during the introduction.

To see is to believe; at M2Desk we take this a step further. At, amongst others, the Haagse Nutsscholen and Stichting SKOzoK, a few M2Desks are put to practice. These schools are considering purchasing M2Desk, and have chosen a tryout to be convinced of the use of M2Desk within their own environment. Are you interested to try M2Desk in practice? The three schools where, in June, the first M2Desk series are delivered.
After processing the findings of the beta series, the first series of M2Desk are produced at this moment. Early June the beta series at Stichting Prisma will be replaced and two classrooms will be furnished with 43 M2Desks. From this moment on, the M2Desk multimedia student desk is available.
Next to the Holtkampschool in Goes, part of Stichting Prisma, M2Desk will be delivered to the Aloysius in Maasland, and the Klim-Op in Hoogerheide (part of Stichting Vives). All these schools are in the Netherlands.

Het Leren van de Toekomst (Learning form/in the Future)
As of March 22, 2010, group 6, 7 and 8 (age 9 to 12) of the elementary School de Schakel in Eibergen (the Netherlands) will deal with the planned curriculum. Not with textbooks and notebooks, but with, for instance, PDA’s, podcasts and the M2Desk. These technologies have been tested preliminary. Based on these experiences a three week calendar outline has been set up. Jelle Berens, headmaster of the elementary school de Schakel: “In the end it is not about the gadgets, it is about proper education.” Because of the still limited availability of the M2Desk, amongst others because of the pilot at the Holtkampschool in Goes (the Netherlands), it is not possible to fill a complete classroom at ‘Het Leren van de Toekomst’. For this reason, M2Desk will act as a special, this means that a number of special applications run on the M2Desk in a separate room.

M2Desk beta series is tested in practice, at Stichting Prisma
In a period of 4 weeks, seven M2Desks are tested in practice. Mechanic, technical, and software stability will be put to the test. Next to this fieldtest, two other M2Desks will undergo an endurance test. The M2Desk will be overloaded on several fronts in order to confirm that all parts are ready to put into practice. March 4, Kennisnet has filmed. Furthermore, the bigger educational magazines Dyade and Vives follow these tests closely, and will report back on them.

M2Desk is shown to students of the Holtkampschool
M2Desk was shown, at the elementary school Holtkampschool in Goes (part of Stichting Prisma), to students of group 3 to 8 (age 6 to 12). The purpose of this meeting was to observe the reaction of the students. The findings will be included in the production of the beta series. M2Desk takes practice in consideration while developmening the multimedia tabletop. Read the report, and view the photos of this day. See more
